Grand Daddy of Them All

So. It's getting on past the middle of January; it must be time to escape whatever foul winter weather is being visited on the hometown and go see some cars in California.

My experience with the Grand National Roadster Show does not extend back forever, but I do remember shows in the Oakland Coliseum, in tents in the Coliseum parking lot, in downtown S.F., in the Cow Palace, and at San Mateo. It's only since the venue moved to the southland that I begrudgingly quit calling it the Oakland Roadster show. And, although there are benefits that accrue to having the event at the L.A. County Fairplex, I still miss a little time in the Bay area once a year.
